[ Summary ] There is more dementias in hemodialysis patients than in the general public. Non-pharmacological treatment and adequate social support are important for treatment and management of dementia, especially for BPSD patients. Non-pharmacological treatment includes maintaining good physical condition, reducing subjective symptoms, maintaining good emotional contact and avoiding over stimulation. In addition, observation of individual patients and patient centered forms of care are essential.
