[ Summary ] Dialysis patients' amount of saliva secretion is reduced. They are also at high disease risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease. Although decayed teeth and periodontal disease are due to infections, the development of related symptoms is influenced by lifestyle. Plaque control is important in order to protect dialysis patients from decayed teeth and periodontal disease.
In order to enjoy a comfortable life, it is important HD patients maintain proper oral hygiene.
