[ Summary ] |
Many dialysis facilities were damaged by the East Japan earthquake and the tsunami in Tohoku, Japan. After the initial crisis, Yamagata prefecture played an important role as a support center for dialysis care in the disaster area. We received 153 dialysis patients from Miyagi and Fukushima from March 11th to 20th, 2011. We need to develop contingency plans to deal with future disasters. These plans need to be made in terms of dealing with patients in the immediate vicinity as well as refugees who arrive later. |
