[ Summary ] In the maintenance phase of the peritoneal dialysis, hyperlipidemia, and obesity often progress by overeating as the stable PD patients. Also the protein excessive intake leads to hyperphosphatemia. For the each one of all my PD patients, we calculated appropriate calorie and accepted protein intake of 0.8 g/kg and performed the nutrition guidance. Most of my PD patients could prevent obesity and malnutrition, and the peritoneal function was still available for preservation without hyper-permeability.
It was suggested to bring about a major merit about the survival rate and technical survival rate of the PD patients under the stable management of the low protein diet (0.8 g/kg) subsequently.
