[ Summary ] The purpose of our report is threefold. First, we elucidate elderly dialysis patients' preferences for location of care when they require long-term care. Secondly, we outline the informal and formal care networks available for disabled elderly dialysis patients. Last, we analyze the use of the long-term care facilities for disabled elderly dialysis patients. The data which we used to analyse these factors was obtained from a national survey for hemodialysis patients conducted at five year intervals by the Japanese Association of Dialysis Physicians and the Japan Association of Kidney Disease Patients.
