[ Summary ] In these guidelines, not only hypertension but also hypotension are dealt with. Categories of hypotension include intradialytic hypotension (IDH), orthostatic hypotension, and sustained hypotension. These abnormalities are associated with mortality, particularly cardiovascular events. The focus of this discussion is whether we should define optimal levels of blood pressure values or not. By defining our objectives and for whom the values should be applied, the optimal blood pressure levels were considered to be 140/90 mmHg. One goal of blood pressure control should be to reduce cardiovascular events.
