[ Summary ] To remove free light chains, plasma exchange or hemodialysis using a high cut-off membrane has been performed for the treatment of acute renal failure due to myeloma cast nephropathy. To ameliorate the symptoms of hyperviscosity syndrome caused by Waldenström macroglobulinemia, plasmapheresis is indicated. Plasma exchange is indicated for TTP patients with severe ADAMTS 13 deficiency and also have autoantibody conditions which are directed against ADAMTS 13.
