[ Summary ] Generally, there are two sides (a material side and a mental side) in the interpersonal relationships.
In the material side of family relationships, we may find an asymmetrical and dependent relationship between husbands and wives, parents and children.
However in the mental side of family relationships, we can get mutual understandings concerning the way of thinking and living each other. That is to say, in the mutual understandings, family members put their eyes on one another in an altruistic and coordinate manner. Our identity is composed by this mental relationships.
We establish and maintain the identity by coincidence of the reciprocal, symmetrical mutual look.
Therefore, I think that other person in the family is the most important moment for the identity to be formed based on the primary, reciprocal, symmetrical relationships.
Family relationships are very important in such a meaning now.
