[ Summary ] The number of dialysis patients at the end of 2008 increased to 282,622. Per patient dialysis expenses have continued to decrease. Therefore, it has become very difficult for public hospitals to provide adequate care. To survive, public dialysis hospitals should provide functions not provided in dialysis facilities without hospitalization bed and accept positively dialysis introduction patients and complication patients. This strategy will be necessary in terms of finances and logistics. The continued survival of these hospitals will make it possible to provide high quality care for dialysis patients.
