[ Summary ] Dialysis patients have various risk factors involving traditional factors and chronic kidney disease (CKD) related-factors. These patients also have a high prevalence of CAD (coronary artery disease). Regarding the clinical characteristics of these patients, we observed significantly high frequencies of multi-vessel lesions and the presence of severe coronary calcification. Care should be taken when diagnosing CAD in these patients because their symptoms are atypical and there are difficulties in accurately reading the changes observed in electrocardiograms. There are various techniques for diagnosing CAD, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography, cardiac magnetic resonance, and coronary angiography (CAG). CAG is the gold standard for evaluating CAD, however, it is necessary to keep in mind the fact that CAG is an invasive technique and the complications associated with CAG procedures are found comparatively frequently in dialysis patients.
