[ Summary ] Dialysis patients are often anxious due to breathing difficulties, and also are not mobile. Coughing and sputum produced are symptoms patients often present while receiving dialysis. Often these patients try to ease their symptoms by taking medicines in considerate of others. However, we know that coughing and sputum production is a very important defense mechanism. Therefore, we need to provide the best treatment in consideration of information from assessments, and provide the best solutions to relieve pain. We also need to observe patients closely, since a rapidly aging society requires these patients' coughs be carefully monitored.
