[ Summary ] The purposes for dialysis include removal of waste products, control of electrolytes, and control of body fluid volume (by weight) through removal of excess fluids which are obtained through dietary intake between dialysis sessions. To maintain the patient's proper body fluid volume, guidance for self management and the establishment of proper fluid removal conditions must be enforced. Setting for fluid removal conditions must be established to maintain patients' stable hemodynamics in limited dialysis periods and to reduce patients' risk from volume overload. Various aspects of information must be comprehensively evaluated and examined in relation to those criteria. The information obtained from monitoring devices, such as hematocrit monitors helps us to observe changes in hemodynamics during dialysis and fluid removal, and may help us to examine fluid removal conditions.
