[ Summary ] At this time, nursing managers face challenges brought on by medical advances, increased numbers of elderly patients and a shortage of nurses. It is common to see situations where nursing managers are exposed to stress, which may lead to "burnout". This is due to complicated medical issues they must deal with.
In order to provide high levels of medical care for patients, it is very important nursing managers take steps to maintain the mental health of nurses. Preventive strategies may help in these situations. It is also very critical that supportive work places be developed where some staff members may be able to recognize and relate to their co-workers' stress and offer their support.
