[ Summary ] In dialysis nursing, long term relationships involving mutual trust between staff members and patients is required. Furthermore, specialized knowledge related to dialysis related diseases and medical instruments is required. The aging of the population and increased complications with dialysis patients as well as the introducion of computerization in nursing care have lead to more complicated nursing situations. We researched the degree of stress experienced by these circumstances and considered the mental health of midcareer nurses.
Extreme stress may be experienced by dialysis nursing staff members while carrying out duties such as routine accident prevention. Conversations with colleagues and adequate free time create an atmosphere of positive thinking. In the future, the establishment of the global support systems will be required.
