[ Summary ] For children, treatment should be selected by considering physical factors and social conditions they will encounter when reaching adulthood. Moreover, family considerations are also important. Treatment is often selected due to the great number of advantages of peritoneal dialysis for children. Kidney transplantation may also be chosen due to its positive elements. It is necessary to consider in the early stages of disease the choice of treatment for children who have many coexisting illnesses.
