[ Summary ] The number of antibiotic resistant bacteria, such as MDRSP, BLNAR and macrolide resistant mycoplasma, has increased in Japan. The Japanese Respiratory Society published both the "Guidelines for the Management of Community-Acquired Pneumonia in Adults" and the "Guidelines for the Management of Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia in Adults", concerning proper use of antibiotics.
