[ Summary ] Tuberculosis is more common in dialysis patients than in the general population. These patients often exhibit atypical features such as extrapulmonary lesions. Therefore, it is sometimes difficult to diagnose tuberculosis in dialysis patients. It is very important to be diagnosed. Several procedures, including new laboratory methods maybe employed. The most appropriate treatment must be employed to avoid drug resistance. If tuberculosis is diagnosed or even suspected, appropriate measures must be taken to avoid massive outbreaks in our institutions.
