[ Summary ] Mental and behavioral symptoms are frequently seen in end-stage renal disease patients who are undergoing hemodialysis. It is important to find the common psychological characteristics of these patients in order to cope with their mental and behavioral problems. Doctor-patient relationships, psychological adjustments and pathological denial in chronic hemodialysis patients, as well as other psychological distress in these patients are discussed.
