[ Summary ] Survival prognoses with home hemodialysis (HHD) are remarkably good. The rate of return to active roles in society, for HHD patients is high as well. It is expected that HHD will play a greater role in the near future for patients who wish to perform certain functions in society. The most important concern in relation to HHD is achieving a high level of safety, therefore education and training for HHD patients is very important. Meetings should be held at the beginning and the end of HHD training. A program for starting HHD is outlined, including a method for training HHD patients.
