[ Summary ] A deceased kidney transplant is the most clinical and cost-effective treatment for many patients with established renal failure in UK. The number of the deceased kidney transplant and the kidney donors has not changed in last ten years. However, the number of the active transplant waiting list has increased year by year. On the other hand, the number of patients on haemodialysis has recently increased due to the aging of patients and the increase of a diabetic nephropathy. The increase in the number of patients with established renal failure will place more pressure on the health economy. The Department of Health in UK showed a guideline, National Service Framework for Renal Service, to realize standardization of a health care service received high quality dialysis and renal transplantation in fairness.
