[ Summary ] Recently, concepts concerning “chronic kidney disease (CKD)” treatment have been the focus of attention in Japan. Urgent counter measures for treatment of patients with terminal nephrosis and cardio-vascular conditions are indispensable today. Better prognosis of all patient with terminal nephritic diseases can be obtained by early detection of CKD, including chronic nephrosis, diabetic nephrosis and CKD. Early intervention by dietitians through dietary planning and other measures, followed by nutritional education prior to initiation of dialysis, will contribute to the preventative measures provided for the ever increasing number of terminal and / or late stage nephrosis patients being supported by dialysis.
Future concerns related to clinical case studies of nephrosis patients who exhibited improvement after nutritional assessment and guidance during various stages of CKD are discussed.
