[ Summary ] Symptoms of Crohn's disease (CD) are heterogeneous, but commonly include weight loss. Systemic symptoms, including malaise, anorexia or fever are common. Enteral nutrition is regarded by most as only being appropriate for adjunctive treatment to support nutrition and not as a primary therapy. Recently, there have been placebo controlled trials of nutritional therapy during CD remission. Enteral nutrition through elemental nutritional means is recommended for maintaining CD remission.
