[ Summary ] Hemodialysis patients often require surgery for condition such as hyperparathyroidism, dialysis related amyloidosis, cardiovascular complications, acute abdomen and others. Patients on hemodialysis belong to a high risk group. Therefore, preoperative evaluation of their general condition, especially cardiovascular complications, is essential. In hemodialysis center management of hyperpotassemia, overhydration, bleeding from wounds, anemia, infection, relief of pain, etc. are very important during the perioperative period. Because patient movement is usually restricted, prevention of accidental events and psychological conditions should also be kept in mind.
