[ Summary ] The new medical treatments for gastroenterological disease are eradication therapy for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection and anti-TNF-α antibody treatment for Crohn's disease. Since H. pylori eradication regimens for chronic renal failure patients have not been standardized, each institution is utilizing its individual eradication protocol. On the other hand, renal side effects have not been observed in anti-TNF-α antibody treatment. However, this treatment for chronic renal failure patients has not been examined fully. In the future, it will be necessary to establish which type of medicine, dosage, and administration period is most effective for treatment of chronic renal failure.
