Title Understanding new drugs for dialysis patients

[ Summary ] Many dialysis patients have complications from a variety of diseases, due to aging and higher prevalence diabetes. Infections and malignancies, as well as cardiovascular diseases, are increasing as major causes of death in Japanese dialysis patients. Therefore, many patients have more opportunities to receive new drugs for these diseases. However, the effects of these drugs may be too weak if the physicians do not use dialysis appropriately. Staff members must understand the pharmacokinetics of new agents, and provide sufficient, full-dosage therapy for dialysis patients.
