[ Summary ] Cardiovascular disease remains the most frequent cause of death for patients with end-stage renal disease. The characteristics of coronary lesions are severe calcification, diffuse disease and multi-vessel disease. Coronary artery bypass is effective in improving long-term prognosis ; however, complication rates are high. Off-pump CABG improves early mortality rate, however , long term results after CABG were not satisfactory. Co-operative research projects including those with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, nephlologists and basic researchers should be established to further improvements in medical and surgical treatment for coronary artery disease in chronic dialysis patients.
