| [ Summary ] | The cause of ischemic coronary artery disease is myocardial ischemia, caused by arterial sclerosis. Dialysis patients with decreased coronary blood flow, due to arteriosclerotic risk factors easily develop ischemic coronary artery diseases. It is predicted that ischemic coronary artery disease will increase because of the increase in diabetic nephropathy and increased patient age. In dialysis patients, there is neither a particular symptom nor a particular diagnostic procedure to diagnosis ischemic coronary artery disease. However, calcification of vascular walls is often characteristically advanced. It may become a useful diagnostic procedure to evaluate calcification noninvasively. Accurate prognoses are closely associated with identification of calcification in coronary arteries. Therefore, we have placed a high priority on observation of symptoms and diagnoses related to ischemic coronary artery disease. | |
