[ Summary ] Patient education by nurses, is very important to develop effective communication with patients, to provide a high sense of reliability to patients, and to support patients' self determination for self care behavior. In this paper, an example of self care behavior for dialysis patients who used SAT commuincation skills was introduced. Also, through SAT communication skills, the main techniques of observation, listening, ongoing empathy, self image techniques and formation of small targets for behavior modification were described.
