[ Summary ] The prevalence of metabolic syndrome among patients undergoing hemodialysis was 8.4 %. High serum triglyceride levels and low serum high density lipoprotein-cholesterol levels were observed in these patients. Dyslipidemia is thought to be one risk factor for cerebrovascular disease, so its treatment is necessary. First, lifestyle modilication is necessary, after which adequate lipid lowering therapy may also be required.
