| [ Summary ] | The Kobe earthquake caused suffering great huge numbers of chronic dialysis patients by depriving them of dialysis therapy. The Chuetsu earthquake also deprived dialysis therapy from 336 patients in three hospitals. Those patients were transferred by bus to other facilities for a week. In planning counter measures for dialysis patients in the event of an earthquake with it's epicenter in Tokyo, establishment of alternative facilities is vital. We came up with the idea of a network for dialysis patients in natural disasters. We described the framework for the “Tokyo Network for Dialysis Patients in Natural Disasters”. | |
