| [ Summary ] | Improvements in surgical skills, pre- and post-transplant management and the advent of effective and less harmful immunosuppressive regimens for recent renal transplantation has resulted in better long term outcomes. Re-dialysis, however, is still an event which makes both recipients and doctors grieve. The points we must concentrate on for re-dialysis are the following : (1) early dialysis reintroduction is necessary, but supporting therapy is important to maintain functionality as long as possible, (2) to maintain minimum immunosuppression to prevent rejection, (3) providing time for patients to adapt to re-dialysis by gradually increasing the frequency of dialysis. | |
