[ Summary ] |
Intraocular pressure (IOP) may rise during hemodialysis in patients with or without glaucoma. This IOP elevation is usually transient and slight. However, for patients with advanced glaucoma, the IOP elevation may cause further damage to the optic nerve. We should modify hemodialysis procedures to prevent IOP elevation and minimize optic nerve damage in patients with glaucoma. |
