[ Summary ] Recently there has been an increasing amount of ocular surgery for patients undergoing hemodialysis. It is difficult to treat these patients because they have severe eye diseases, such as advanced proliferative diabetic retinopathy, as well as being in unstable in general condition. Easy bleeding is one of the problems during surgery for these patients. Those patients have weak defences against infection, and can not tolerate intensive chemical therapy. Cooperation between doctors who perform surgery, and those who manage patients' general condition, and those who perform dialysis is important for successful surgery and postoperative ophthalmologic follow-up.
