[ Summary ] Our trial was planned to clarify the usefulness of critical path (CP). We instructed trial members in treatment of chronic renal failure (CRF), renal functions and the importance of dietary protein restriction, according to the CP method. A CP is very useful in developing cooperation between doctors and co-medicals, to guide them and providing informed consent and comfort for patients. Our team work has been strengthened by using the CP method and we were able to effectively conduct this study. To advance the CP method, we had five meetings at a city hotel in order to teach the importance of dietary protein restriction for CRF patients, under relaxed conditions. We concluded that CP is a useful and effective method for education, developing reliable relationships between staff members and patients, previding therapy for patients and to reduce medical expenses.
