[ Summary ] In maintenance dialysis patients, a state of malnutrition is easy for the patient to enter. To prevent that, adequate dietary therapy is need. Recomended daily protein and energy intake levels suggested by the Japanese Kidney Disease Society and the K / DOQI are very similar to each other. At minimum, recommended daily protein intake should make up for lost quantities of amino acids and protein due to dialysates in order to achieve levels of protein intake equal to those of healthy peoples.
