[ Summary ] The Kidner Support Association was founded in 2001 to improve the quality of life (QOL) for end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. To secure necessary information, we are hopping to continue issuing our bimonthly periodical called "Soramame Tsushin" targeted to pre-ESRD patients. It is very unfortunate that we are forced to stop holding major seminars (3 times/year) due to economic restraints, however, we believe we can contribute by encouraging patient to choose renal therapy modalities which meet their clinical/social needs through various vehicles and working together with the nephrologist to improve QOL of ESRD patients. We are expecting to see a breakthrough in technology to enable ESRD patients to spend their life as normal as possible although certain restraints should remain.
