[ Summary ] Because the contribution of residual renal function (RRF) to total solute clearance is significant in peritoneal dialysis, the loss of RRF over time can lead to inadequate dialysis. Combined peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis therapy is a very useful method. This therapy allows the patient to manage appropriate levels of body fluids and dialysis dose. Furthermore, we can achieve peritoneal rest by using this complementary dialysis therapy. This technique may lead to the maintenance of long-term peritoneal functions.
