[ Summary ] At the present time, the term information technology (IT) is very familiar to Japanese and personal computers surround around us. We have managed many kinds of information in our HD clinic since its establishment.
However, we can not use computers as conveniently or freely as we would like. Data concerning ESRD on HD can be kept on a hard disk, MO disks, CDs etc. If this is not done, the records are kept in some "forgotten box". "IT" will make many nursing jobs simpler and more useful. A system administrator will be needed on our staff. Cost reduction must also be considered. Many problems have not been solved yet.
Nurses are many times not good at computer operations. Training and education for this technology, and standardization of terminology in nursing must be implemented.
