[ Summary ] We have developed a new telemedicine system known as the "CAPD i-notebook" using Web technology, which can continually share medical data with medical staff members and CAPD patients. The patient records their daily medical treatment results on the Web database server from a personal computer or a cellular phone. The information from the Web can be checked in real time by the browser on a personal computer and also by the medical staff. Since all data is on the Web, anyone can use it without needing special equipment other than their personal computer or cellular phone, which is connected to the internet. Through introduction of the telemedicine system, the "CAPD i-notebook", the early detection of abnormalities and suitable management before visits to the hospital were attained. We accept new technology, such as XML, that is standardized and is flexible, and will continue to evolve this system.
