[ Summary ] Rehabilitation for patients with renal replacement therapy, associated with post-myocardial infarction or post-cardiac operations, is extremely important in terms of not only prognosis, but also quality of life (QOL). There are two kinds of rehabilitation: one is for patients in the acute stage, the other is for the chronic stage, after discharge from the hospital. The programs consisted of two kinds, depending on the severity for the patients' illness. One is a two week program and the other one is a three week program. The important for success in achieving these goals is to commence rehabilitation as early as possible. Particularly, in order to improve catabolism after the operation, intradialytic parenteral nutrition (IDT) should be provided. To avoid heart failure, dry weight should be monitored as well as monitoring of cardiac function.
