[ Summary ] Many patients with heart disease, especially ischemic heart disease, have reduced cardiac contractility and are susceptible to anginapectoris attacks and heart failure due to an unstable water balance. To protect against such problems, the following are important: (1) control of water balance, (2) prevention and countermeasures for angina attacks, (3) blood pressure control, (4) anemia control, and (5) individual lifestyle guidance.
