[ Summary ] Malnutrition of long-term and aged dialysis patients is a major problem, disturbance of QOL and poor prognoses are common. Nutritional assessment is important for the prevention and a treatment of complications in long-term dialysis patients. Dietary, anthropometric and laboratory methods are major forms of nutritional assessment. Proper intake of protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals is necessary to maintain a good dialysis regime. In nutritional management dialysis patients, it is important to consider appropriate nutritional intake in relation to dialysis dosage. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the occurrence and development of complications by maintaining good nutrition. It is also important to manage and tailor the nutritional status of dialysis patients depending on the individual.
