[ Summary ] For dialysis patients, it is a well known fact that the quality of meal management on a dairy basis is an important factor in administration of dietary therapy. Decisions concerning dietary therapy must be made in relation to diary entries. However, Food Record Method and 24-Hour Dietary Recall which are generall carried out may be subjected to lapse in memory and not be exact. In recent years, the methods of investigation, such as the use of digital cameras or cellular phones with cameras and meal diagnosis on the internet, hasspread. At our clinic, meal investigations using digital cameras are conducted by the main workforce, within the clinical workforce. The use of a digital camera has advantages of solving ambiguity of Food Record Method and 24-Hour Detary Recall and of instructing patients in real time. Moreover, unified instruction of the staff is also attained by having shared information from these pictures.
Along with improving investigation method for problems that cannot be measured in meal investigation, compensation and comprehensive judgment of dietary index helps patients to understand their illnesses and to notice the necessity for medical treatment.
