[ Summary ] Various computer systems have been introduced for medical treatment through progress in information technology. This technology is contributing a great deal to the management of dialysis patients. Generally, Kt/V is used as the index of the amount of dialysis required. We built our original management system for patient's data, enabling us to make automatic calculations of Kt/V. This system is connected to many systems, such as dialysis surveillance systems by the Nikkiso company, as is the inspection center. We instituted a verifiable range and an individual range for this system. The existence of deviations from these ranges can be expressed as being purpose-oriented, with display screens being classified, in order to grasp the patient's condition and to eliminate complications. Each of the seven display screens shows the blood test results, and the required information from other systems. Information technology systems are indispensable for securing medical quality and medical safety. For medical staff members efforts made in using information technology systems are important in providing optimal medical treatment for patients.
