[ Summary ] It is reported in Japan, that about 70% of acute poisoning resulted from chemicals for home use such as desiccation material, insecticides and gardening chemicals, and about 20% from prescription medical drugs and over-the-counter drugs. Natural poisoning accounts for only about 2%, and within this, mushroom poisoning which could possibly lead to death is one aspect that should not be over looked. In this paper, we gave an outline to mushroom poisoning and report a case in which blood purification therapy was considered to be clinically effective.
