[ Summary ] At present, several different nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are ofen used in hospitals. Acute dialysis is not uncommonly necessitated by renal dysfunction due to NSAIDs or excessive NSAID use. NSAIDs cause severe symptoms, including edema, hyperkalemia, acute renal failure and dysfunction of the central nervous system, by inhibiting cyclooxygenase. The important, major side effects of NSAID must be well understood.
