Onehundred ml of the formulation, containing 18.5% glufosinate, is likely to produce severe results. All cases should be admitted to the hospital, regardless of the amount ingested or the severity of signs. Monitoring of vital signs and preparing respiratory management, such as intubation and respirators is essential. The clearance of glufosinate by HD is high, but urinary excreation is rapid and the volume of distribution is relatively large. Therefore, except in cases with renal dysfunction, hemopurification is not necessary for treating patients with this poisoning.
