[ Summary ] We evaluated those patients admitted to Fuji City General Hospital due to poisoning over the last ten years. The frequency of intoxicants, or medicines was 65%, and pesticides accounted for 27%. A high percentage of our patients were middle aged. Although the number of patients with medicine poisoning has increased over the last two years, clinical features were not severe. On the other hand, those of patients having pesticide poisoning were severe and some received hemodialysis or/and hemoperfusion. However some patients died, in spite of these therapies. Paraquat poisoning was the most severe aspects in our cases.
