[ Summary ] OJT is effective in training high quality dialysis nurses. This is so, because a knowledge of the special technology of hemodialysis methods is required for dialysis nurses. In order to effectively advance OJT, a work place climate, an educational model, training needs, methods of guidance, the state of information gathering, etc., influence future performance. Moreover, when considering an educational system, the special nature of dialysis nursing determines training methods. Improvements, not only in the special knowledge relevant to the kidneies or related technology but, self-care support, dealing with mental problems or family problems, operation of management in co-ordinating various occupations, etc. should be included. The organization is motivated by the total efforts of all concerned. Education for the organization man is also required for nursing personnel, and is an important factor in obtaining satisfaction for both the patient and the nurse.
