[ Summary ] The number of dialysis patients with dysphagia is increasing, along with an increase in the number of elderly patients on dialysis. For such patients, it is important to use a team approach for appropriate rehabilitation and nutritional care. The correct team approach can prevent deterioration of the patient's nutritional status, and provide effective training for eating and swallowing problems. Although the dietary management of dialysis patients with dysphagia is more complex, the basic approach is to conduct a nutritional assessment of each patient, just as with other dialysis patients, and provide a therapeutic diet of the proper quality and nutritional content.
